About Armen
Armen Arakelian is a finance professional, social entrepreneur, and decorated volunteer dedicated to economic empowerment and environmental resilience.
He currently serves as the Executive Chair of the Back to the Bush Indigenous Corporation, an Aboriginal and Torres Strait-backed charity he leads to support disaster-affected farmers and promote Indigenous land management. Under his stewardship, the organisation has secured Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status to expand its philanthropic reach.
Armen’s commitment to community is backed by frontline service. A volunteer firefighter since 2014, he was awarded the National Emergency Medal and the Premier's Emergency Citation for his service during Australia's bushfire crises.
Professionally, Armen holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance & Entrepreneurship) from Macquarie University. He combines this academic foundation with practical leadership as the Economic and Agribusiness Project Director for the Treaty Council, where he works to emancipate Indigenous communities by facilitating access to global markets.
